Are the suggested grade levels a must?
The suggested grade levels are designed to put youth ambassadors into similar age categories so that they can be instructed age specific curriculum.
What type of payment structure is there?
A suggested monthly payment plan is offered for parents who prefer to pay the registration fee over a set period of time.
Are there any academic requirements?
Applicants must be in good academic standing with their school and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Are there any adult supervisors?
Adult chaperons will accompany youth ambassadors on their trip abroad.
How large is the group of students that travel?
Each travel destination will consist of between 15-30 youth ambassadors.
What is home stay?
The most highly rated experiences of the Global Youth Ambassadors Program is the "homestay." For most GYAP destinations, youth ambassadors live for 5-7 days with local families in the host country. Host families are a part of the Friendship Force International Program. Past youth ambassadors have expressed high satisfaction with having a personal cultural experience with host family members and practicing the native language.
